Who Is Jordie Captures?
First of all, my name is Jordie and I have been running Jordie Captures wedding photography and videography for the last few years. Capturing beautiful weddings by allowing couples to show the real them without the pressure of having a formal photoshoot or awkward photographer giving them instructions is my specialty!
But enough of that, you want to hear a little more about the person you will be trusting with your wedding or engagement shoot! I am 25 years old and happily married to my beautiful wife, Jen.
I have been obsessed with photography and videography for the last 4 years and I love to photograph everything from lifestyle hikes, to beautiful weddings!
My Approach To Photoshoots
My biggest aim with a photoshoot is to make a couple feel as comfortable with me as possible and feel like they can be their true selves in front of the camera.
But how do I make couples feel comfortable with me, you ask? Here is my secret to photoshoot success… just have fun with your couple! It's amazing how smiles become more vibrant, eyes light up, and embraces become so much tighter and intimate when your couple feels that they are hanging out with a super supportive, encouraging and funny friend instead of a photographer who is just watching their every move with critiques and ordering them to pose in certain positions.
Getting your couple to feel comfortable with you is not always easy, but that is why I feel that the groundwork of this new friendship starts from the very moment a couple sends through their enquiry to me. Whether they are asking me to capture their wedding, engagement, party or even just a family portrait, I look for every opportunity to make that connection and start a friendship that makes them excited for their shoot! Not anxious like I know many couples can be when a camera is pointed at them.
So Why Book Me?
Before I answer, let me first say that weddings can often be incredibly stressful for a couple. The pressure of getting everything right on one of the biggest days of your life can easily leave you on edge, especially when there is a strict timeline to follow and things aren't going according to plan.
What I think makes me the perfect choice with this in mind, is that you are booking a photographer that is there to help you focus on what is really important on your wedding day - being happy and madly in love with your husband/wife! What this means in reality is that there is no amount of schedule changing, unplanned weather disasters, and unexpected difficulties that will stop me from capturing moments that you will look back on with a smile on your face for the rest of your life.
My job is to make you as the couple feel as comfortable and happy as possible, despite any wedding day drama. This means that our couple shoot will be filled with laughs and will go by in a flash because you are having too much fun, every detail of your ceremony will be captured without me getting in the way or becoming a distraction, the essence of your big reception party will be documented, and all the decor details will be highlighted so you'll never have to struggle to remember what your wedding was like! You'll have it all neatly packaged in a beautiful photo gallery!
Who Is My Ideal Client?
As long as you love to wear a smile on your face, you are my ideal client! I have mentioned extensively here that I aim to make photoshoots as fun as possible, and that includes both me as the photographer and you as the couple!
As long as you are having fun, I am having fun, and that makes for great photos!
