What a dream wedding! Tala Game Reserve is the perfect venue for anyone looking for a safari experience on their wedding day.
Not only do they have incredible opportunities for you to go out on a game drive vehicle for your couple shoot 😱, but they also have amazing ceremony and reception venues, as well as plenty of accommodation for you to get ready in and stay over for the night.
Julianne & Tyran are such a gem of a couple. Naturally, we chatted quite a bit while planning their wedding day and we got to meet up to chat about ideas and do their engagement shoot too, so by the time we reached their wedding day, we were already BEST friends!
Now, let's chat more about the venue... Julz & Ty chose the Acacia venue and I am so glad they did. It is an outdoor ceremony on the deck of the reception area that overlooks a little watering hole - we were lucky enough to catch some rhinos and buck having a sip there during canapés, however before we got to that part we did notice a little splash of rain... Not ideal for an outdoor ceremony 😂
Not a problem though! There was just enough space to push everything back under the awning of the reception roof so we still have a view of the watering hole and a fantastic outdoor feel for the ceremony.
Fast forward to the portrait session, Julz, Ty, the wedding party, and of course myself and my 2nd shooter all jumped into the game drive vehicle and were on the hunt for giraffes to take some photos in front of.
We zoomed around for about 20 minutes searching for them and started to get a little disappointed that we wouldn't be able to get any photos in front of the tall spotty boys. Just as we were about to turn back and find another spot to start off the shoot, we saw 3 giraffe heads stick up from behind the trees and immediately rushed out of the vehicle to start snapping away! It was worth the wait :)
After running over the scheduled couple shoot time by 40 minutes (because we were having too much fun and capturing some bangers!), we made our way back to the reception and kicked off a busy night of dancing, incredible food, and beautiful speeches.
