With their 10-year wedding anniversary on the horizon, Amanda & Michael reached out to me to book an intimate photoshoot so that they could document this special time in their marriage, had some beautiful photos to announce this milestone to friends and family.
We chatted a little about different venue options, but as soon as Ground The Venue was mentioned it was a big "YES" all round.
Jump forward a few weeks - the date was set, photo permit for the venue was confirmed, and planning for the shoot was well underway... Amanda delivered some even more great news that their little cute little doggie, Levi, would be coming a long too so that we could capture some full family portraits! This shoot could not be going any better and it hadn't even started yet!
The day FINALLY came for the shoot and we were blessed with perfect weather. I arrived at the venue a little early to do a walk around and discovered that Ground has got their very own vineyard... IN GAUTENG!?!? How perfect this shoot was turning out...
Amanda, Michale and Levi around and we instantly hit it off with some movement photos to get everyone comfortable, and I must say... these 3 are such naturals in front of the camera. Not in a professional model kind of way but more so that they have such a tangible, real love that is so obviously to see. This makes my job so incredibly easy as I essentially am just documenting their real love and not trying to "stage" their love if that makes sense.
One other thing that happened which was absolutely hilarious... Amanda organised for some elegant balloons, big 10 and all, however in getting them out of their car there was a big of swapping of hands the balloons ended up taking flight before we even got chance to take 1 photo with them 😂
We still got a photo of the 10 flying away in what is now one of the most unique photos I have ever taken!
But to summarise... Ground is an incredible venue, Amanda & Michael are a beautiful couple, and Levi is the perfect son!
